Whole Barn Reared Christmas Chicken


All of our chickens are barn reared and have access to the outdoors whenever they choose.

Our barn reared whole chicken is delicious to roast for a family meal or to use economically over a few days making a variety of dishes, for example chicken soup, chicken pie and a chicken curry.

The carcass can then be used to make a delicious organic chicken stock, which can be frozen ahead of time for those future meals. 

Serving Suggestion

For a whole bird, allow at least 450g or 1lb per person. 

Cooking Guide

Heat oven to 180ºC/350 F/Gas 4 and we recommend you cook for 1.5 hours minimum for a 3lb/1.3kg bird. Ensure centre is piping hot and juices run clear before serving. Allow fifteen minutes to rest before carving.
