Our traditionally reared free range geese live a long and healthy life enjoying natural diets and the freedom to graze the open-grass paddocks on the farm.
Foraging for berries in the hedgerows and orchards helps develop the natural and distinctive flavour that makes Appledore Geese an ideal choice for the festive season.
After reaching full maturity the birds are slaughtered on the farm, avoiding the stress to the birds of long distance transportation.
They are then dry plucked and hung for at least seven days to mature and develop the natural flavours unique to this method of production.
All Appledore Geese are wrapped in greaseproof paper and presented in a carry-home box, along with, vacuum-packed giblets and a recipe leaflet with easy-to-follow cooking tips and recipes.
Roasting a goose is easier than turkey and produces fat for the most wonderful roast potatoes. A few seasonal trimmings and a punchy trifle will ensure everyone is merry and bright.
